Kurt Buesching

Kurt Buesching
An avid artist and photographer since childhood, he channeled that interest into graphic arts, drawing, drafting, photography and woodshop while in high school.

In college he moved between video production, photography and studio arts before completing his studies at Wayne State University in Detroit.

He is a former adjunct professor at the College for Creative Studies and currently works out of his studio in downtown Pontiac, Michigan.

Mike Mikolowski

Michael Mikolowski
Mike was born and raised in Detroit surrounded by the original Cass Corridor art movement as the child of painter Ann and her poet husband Ken.

Mike’s parents relocated to Grindstone City at the tip of Michigan’s thumb to publish the Alternative Press out of their historic building on the edge of town.

Mike came back to Detroit in the early 80’s and has remained a fixture of the local art community for over 40 years who continues to live and work in the area.

Derek Miller

Derek Miller
Derek Miller teaches high school and writes. Much of his poetry can be found in the collection Miller, Reiter, and Robbins: Three New Poets. Hanging Loose Press, 1991.

He is an active member of the Oakland-Flint Writing Project, working over the past several years on projects focusing on teaching writing and research for civic engagement, and writing to explore connections to local history.
